Use the servicer's designated address
Look on the periodic statement, annual escrow statement, transfer notice, or the servicer's website for the address specifically designated for Notices of Error and Requests for Information. A general payment or customer-service address may not be the correct address. MortgageWhy never guesses it.
Letter setup
Identify the account without oversharing
Everything stays in this browser. Include only enough information for the servicer to identify the mortgage. Avoid Social Security numbers, passwords, and bank credentials.
Focused request
Why the request stays narrow
Requests directly related to the servicing of the borrower's own loan are easier to understand and less likely to be treated as irrelevant, duplicative, overbroad, or unduly burdensome. Attach only documents that help identify the transaction or issue.
